About Us

My Story

From the very first classroom I stepped into in the early 1990s, I knew teaching was more than a career — it was a calling. What began with music lessons in both primary and secondary schools grew into a passion for helping students thrive across a wide range of subjects, from English and History to Science and Mathematics.

Over the years, I’ve taught in remote communities, alternative education settings, and Christian schools, always driven by the belief that education should be purposeful and transformative. I’ve also had the privilege of serving in leadership roles — as a Head of Department, Head of School, and School Principal — where I’ve been able to shape learning environments and support teachers to grow into leaders themselves.

Today, through Purpose Driven Education, I draw on that journey to help aspiring leaders, middle leaders, and principals take the next step in their careers with confidence, strategy, and a strong focus on student learning.

Teaching Journey

I began my teaching career in the early 1990s, starting in the classroom as a passionate music educator across both primary and secondary schools. Over time, my teaching expanded beyond music to include Humanities, English, History, and Social Studies (HASS).

My career began in a remote state secondary school before moving into Christian education, where I discovered a deep commitment to teaching that integrates values with learning. After 16 years, I broadened my experience by working in an alternative school setting, delivering accelerated learning programs (PACEs), before returning to a more traditional Christian secondary environment, where I taught English, Science, and Mathematics.

Leadership and Executive Roles

Over the past two decades, I have served in a wide range of leadership positions. I have been:

• Head of Department for over 10 years

• Head of Senior School (Years 10–12)

• Head of Secondary (Years 7–10)

• School Principal for 7 years

These senior and executive roles gave me the privilege of shaping school culture, leading staff development, and guiding students through key stages of their education. My leadership has always been anchored in the belief that purposeful, values-based education changes lives.

Through my experiences as a teacher, middle leader, and principal, I have seen how vital it is for educators to lead with clarity, strategy, and purpose. This is what inspired me to create Purpose Driven Education—a platform dedicated to supporting aspiring school leaders, middle leaders, and principals to grow in confidence, align their practice with professional standards, and ultimately make the biggest impact possible on student learning.
